SystemC is a modeling platform consisting of C++ class libraries and a simulation kernel for design at the
system-behavioral and register-transfer-levels (first versions are RTL with full system-behavioural support coming later). Designers create models using SystemC and standard ANSI C++.
The license for SystemC is OSI compliant
(downloading still requires click-through registration).
Update
SystemC v2.0 has been significantly updated and released as of Nov 2001 to include full system modeling capabilities on top of hardware modeling capabilites. System design features include modeling and refinement of abstract communications via abstract channels, ports and interfaces. |
